Celebration of the Epiphany in Venezuela Camilo Alvarez 1/13/17

In Venezuela, the celebration of the Epiphany is a grand celebration. On January 6th, Venezuelan families gather on the streets while waiting for the 3 magi.
The 3 magi tour around the streets of Venezuela, giving the children small gifts and sweets.
The children also leave their shoes on the front door to receive small gifts from each wise man.
The Rosca de Reyes is a special food prepared for this occasion. In the bread there is a hidden Jesus figurine and whoever finds it has to make or pay for the food for everyone in the household.
