Early Life

Odell Beckham Jr was born and raised in New Orleans, Louisiana and is the son of former LSU running back Odell Beckham Sr and All-America sprinter Heather Van Norman. Having two great athletes as parents only further helped Odell understand, at an early age, what it would take to be successful. He attended High School at Isidore Newman where he excelled in both football and basketball. After four years of stand-out play, he became a U.S. Army All-American. Odell decided to follow in his parents' footsteps by committing to the Louisiana State University.

At LSU Odell is considered one of the most dynamic players in school history, earning the reputation as a scoring threat every time he touched the football. As a junior in 2013, he was awarded the Paul Hornung Award as college football’s most versatile player. Odell also earned first-team All-American honors that year as both a wide receiver and return specialist after leading the SEC and ranking No. 2 in the nation in all-purpose yards with an average of 178.1 yards per game. He finished his collegiate career with 15 touchdowns and 4,118 all-purpose yards, ranking him No. 5 in LSU school history for all-purpose yards. In addition, Odell Beckham Jr ranks 9th in school history with 143 receptions for 2,340 yards (7th in school history).

Offensive Rookie of the Year

In 2014 Odell Beckham Jr. had a year to remember. Playing in just 12 games in his rookie campaign, he caught 91 passes for 1,305 yards and 12 touchdowns, all Giants franchise rookie records. Odell had a rookie season that only that of Randy Moss rivals. With "The Catch" heard across the world, Odell only continued to produce more highlights and eye popping stats. He had seven 100-yard receiving games, which tied him for 3rd in the NFL that season. He capped off a great rookie season with the NFL Offensive Rookie of the Year and a trip to the Pro Bowl.
