ANDREW MAH GRABS TOP TEN FINISH AT CONN COLLEGE INVITATIONAL

At the Conn. College Invitational, sophomore Andrew Mah crossed in 10th overall in a time of 24:53.3 (5:00.4 pace) over the eight-kilometer course as the No. 12 ranked Engineers finished second overall behind No. 1 Williams. As a team, MIT defeated six nationally-ranked squads, including three in the top-20.

IZZI GENGARO FINISHES SECOND AT CONN COLLEGE INVITATIONAL

Sophomore Izzi Gengaro finished second overall out of 365 runners in a time of 21:07 (5:39.8 pace) to lead No. 7 MIT to the team title at the Connecticut College Invitational. At the meet, the Engineers defeated nine nationally-ranked teams, including No. 4 Tufts and No. 5 Williams.

AMANDA GAROFALO RECORDS GAME WINNER AGAINST WPI FOR NEWMAC OFFENSIVE ATHLETE OF THE WEEK

In MIT's only game of the week, Amanda Garofalo recorded two goals, including the game-winner, to defeat previously unbeaten WPI, 3-2, on Saturday. She gave the Engineers a 2-0 lead in the 13th minute and then scored the game-winning goal in the 42nd minute, resulting in her fourth game-winner of the season.

LEE NAMED NEWMAC DEFENSIVE PLAYER OF THE WEEK AFTER 3-1 WEEK FOR MIT

In a 3-1 week for MIT, senior Madison Lee averaged 3.40 digs per set while anchoring a defense that limited its opponents to a .133 hitting percentage. She kicked off the week by posting 10 digs and four aces while holding Clark to a .089 hitting percentage in a sweep on Tuesday. Lee then collected a team-high 16 digs while limiting Middlebury to a .128 hitting performance in a 3-2 win to open the New England Challenge on Friday. In a sweep of Williams on Saturday, she totaled a match-high 15 digs as Williams hit -.020. Lee closed out the tournament with 10 digs in a 3-1 loss to No. 13 Tufts.
