In order to assess student learning, our group implemented two group activities outlined in our lesson plan. The first of the two activities served as a formative assessment to gauge student grasp of lesson plan core components. For this activity, students were split into groups and had to refer to provided readings to explain assigned core components. The second activity was a summative assessment in which these same groups had to create their own lesson plans based on previous teaching sessions. This final summative assessment along with a short answer poll of the teaching session's takeaways allowed us to assess student learning.
