The Velociraptor A Story in evolution by hayden kidder

The Velociraptor as we know from popular culture, existed from 75 to 71 million years ago.

Velociraptors were known to be carnivores, fossil evidence verifies this.

It is believed that Velociraptors were actually quite small, evidence indicates that most weighed around 35 pounds.

Hollywood has been known to use other raptors such as the Achillobator for use in movies due to their size but keep the name Velociraptor.

Despite the ferocity of the prehistoric beast, the velociraptor has found it's way into most people's childhood.

The bones of Velociraptors are hollow. Much like the birds that they descended from.

The raptor has been thought to have hunted by combining keen eyesight with superior hearing.

The Velociraptor was a pack hunter. It communicated with others in it's pack with calls.

Velociraptors are sometimes romanticized in art.

The Velociraptor, like all dinosaurs, were exterminated by a meteor impact.

Picture 1-3 are different skeletal findings of the Velociraptor. Picture 4 is a Tyrannosaurus Rex. It believes the T-Rex was a natural predator of the Velociraptor.
