I drove over to East Egg to see two old friends whom I scarcely knew at all (pg 11).
The quotes shows the lesson that Nicks dad taught him and told him of how to not judge anyone which is really important throughout the book.

Chapter 5: Nick tells Gatsby he will help him with the plan of inviting Daisy for tea. Gatsby offers Nick a chance to make some money but he refuses. He calls Daisy over for tea. She arrives and tells her ride to spend an hour. Gatsby was extremely nervous. He ended up going outside and then coming back in all soaked from the rain. Nick forces him to go back to the living room and talk to Daisy and not act like a little kid. He then comes in, and they begin talking and reminiscing the years they've lost. " you're just embarrassed that's all" "you're acting like a little boy" this shows the main idea that Gatsby was being overly nervous when meeting Daisy after 5 years.
Chapter 6: Rumors continue to go around about Gatsby. Nick doesn't see neither Gatsby nor Daisy for several weeks. Tom stopped for a drink at Gatsby's house. Gatsby tells Tom that he knows Daisy. Tom invites Gatsby fir dinner. Tom and Daisy then attend a party and Tom keeps a close eye in Gatsby because he does not trust him. He begins asking Nick various questions about Gatsby.
