Texas State is a public school in San Marcos. It was established in 1899 as the southwest normal school, it opened in 1903 to 303 students. There wasn't much students because of segregation. Their in state tuition is 8,950 and room and board is 7,940

In 1920 Texas State adopted its first official mascot the bobcat. Oscar strahan the schools athletic director suggested the bobcat cause the cat is native to central Texas and is know for ferocity And later on they officially named it Boko the bobcat.

Texas States athletics is division 1 NCAA. They won 70 championships in total throughout the years. They have 16 varsity teams and their school color are maroon and gold.

Their acceptance rate is 71% so it's likely to get in. Their school is 491 acres and the schools ranking is 2 2017 edition of best colleges of national universities tier 2.

Graduation hat

The school has over 100 majors to apply for like theater, art, dance, computer science and so much more. Famous people also went here like George straight and the 36th president Lyndon B. Johnson.

Texas State also has their traditional fight song called alma mater and Go bobcats. They also make hand shapes of a bobcats paw and cheer on their school.

Texas State is a great school to go to with lots of activities to do and can stay active. From Texas to San Marcos its 3hrs away not out of state but in Texas.
