Each year, around the Mission Inn at Riverside, they have a huge event that draws thousands of people to brave the cold and windy night.
My brother and his wife invited us to come out and see the spectacle. The place was packed with people who came out to see the elaborate lights and take part in the nearby carnival atmosphere.
I'd never been before and found that it was a photographically "target rich" environment, bursting with image opportunities around every corner.
I shot everything this night with a lightweight, mirrorless camera and a nimble tripod. It made it easy to navigate the dense crowds and still the the shots that I envisioned.
