We started by having a very quick think about school and why we were here and what we might want to do afterwards.
We looked at a poem by Langston Hughes called Dreams and thought about how it linked to our futures.
We learned it as a Talk for Write.
We tried to think about how to write our own versions and thought of some other themes that we could use for our own poems.
We chose the theme of hope...
We then had a go at writing our own. Although the poem was quite short, it was hard to keep to the structure of the original. Some of our poems will be on Seesaw soon!
