Annual Baker Food Drive

Food Drive Details

It was inspiring to see the Baker Family come together in full force to support our community. We were stunned to see the outpouring of support and it became clear early on that we were going to exceed last year's collection points. Our students were thrilled to see that they set a new record, earning 31,981 total points for the school. Mr. Harnish's 1st hour earned first place with 5,373 points. Congratulations to him and his students on this achievement.

We had 100 students serve as organizers, counters, and boxers. Several students created posters and informational videos to advertise and promote the food drive. We would like to thank our Watch D.O.G.S. dads and everyone who helped out to make this a success. We have a lot of great Baker Family members and couldn't have done this without you. Many of our students who receive food support shared their gratitude and desire to participate in community service. We are all winners when we support our community.

Winter Orchestra Concert

On Wednesday, December 4th, the Baker Middle School 6th, 7th, and 8th grade orchestras hosted their Winter Concert performance. Their talents were on display and they put on an amazing show. We appreciate Mrs. Xydas' work with our young musicians. They played with passion and gave the crowd a performance to remember. Great job Bobcats!

Religious Diversity Journey

On Monday, November 18th, our Religious Diversity Journey program had their first visit. They spent the day at Sikh Gurdwara in Rochester Hills to learn about the Sikhi faith and culture. Our student's level of respect, curiosity, and open-mindedness was commendable. The Religious Diversity Journey students travel once a month to various places of worship to learn more about the various religions and cultures throughout Metro Detroit.

The 2nd Religious Diversity Journey was Wednesday, December 4th. The students went to Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in Bloomfield Hills. This was a great experience for our students. Their next Journey will be Monday, January 13th, 2020. They will be traveling to Congregation Beth Shalom in Oak Park.

Last Sunday, our Robotics team (Tech KNOW Logic) traveled to Oxford to participate in the The Oxford Wildcat Quest 1 tournament. They won first place and earned a spot at the state level competition on December 13th. They were awarded with a trophy and medals for everyone on the team. Congrats to all of our Robotics Teams. We are very proud of them and their representation of the Baker Family and OneTroy! Go Bobcats!

Counseling Resources

Reading with Addison

The counseling department at Baker Middle School now includes a Therapy Dog, Addison! We have been incorporating Addison in many ways and we wanted to share this passion with our feeder elementary schools! To help future Bobcats make a connection to Baker, we have started a YouTube channel featuring students and staff reading to Addison. To view this channel, you can subscribe to Baker Counselors on YouTube or click on the link below. We plan to add more videos and other helpful information during the year. We hope you enjoy this project and encourage you to share it with your families.

There are many local programs and support systems to help during difficult times. All information is kept confidential.

The Baker Middle School Parent/Teacher Organization provides comprehensive services and support to students, parents and teachers to enhance the learning environment and experience. The Bobshop

Hello and welcome to the Baker Bob Shop!! We really appreciate you signing up to volunteer. The shift runs every school day from 11:15am - 1:00pm. On these days we need one Shop Keeper, with the exception of Tuesdays and Fridays. These are Candy Days and usually very busy, so we ask for two Shop Keepers.

Don't worry if you have not volunteered in the past. There are directions in the Bob Shop, and Jennifer Molotky is there most days as a noon aide. She is overseeing the Bob Shop this year and is happy to help anyone who needs it!

Please review the slots using the link below and sign up where you can. Be mindful to let everyone have a chance to take a spot so as to be fair. Again, we really appreciate your willingness to help out and have fun Shop Keepers!! Feel free to email or text me any questions.

They are willing to donate a portion of the proceeds back to Baker. These funds go directly into the classroom, impacting all Baker students. If you have not registered yet with Kroger or Amazon, simply click on the links below to find out how. Please consider asking your family and friends to sign up for this FREE benefit for our Bobcats. Thank you for support of the Baker PTO.
