Nova Fencing Club 2017 Year in Review

January - We welcomed the Girl Scouts #GSCNC #fencingisfun. Our fencers head off to the Capitol Clash.

February - Jack and Hannah go to the Junior Olympics for the second year in a row.

March - We host the Virginia Division Summer National Qualifiers. Mark, Donna F., Susan, Hannah and Raynie qualify to fence at the Summer Nationals. Donna R., Bill, Jeannine, and Nadia qualify on a different path.

April - We sent 6 fencers to the NAC in Baltimore. Nadia and Susan medal in foil and epee.

May - Nova's Women Foil Squad, Jeannine, Raynie, and Nadia place 1,2,3 at the Valkyrie. Susan places 3rd in Women's Epee.

June - Our hold the first of many summer camps in our new facility!

July - Greg & Jeff build beautiful fencing dummies for the club. Sofia (Silver) and Andrew (Silver) are 2016-2017 USFA Regional Points Winners. Emik (Coach to our Coaches) is inducted into the Fencing Hall of Fame.

August - We keep practicing. Summer Camps keep going.

September - Greg names David our first Fencer of the Month. Andrew earns his E17 at the Charm City Classic ROC.

October - We hold the first tournament in the Jedi Challenge Series. Anton medals in his first tournament (but doesn't realize it!). 11 new Nova Fencers participate. Our youth program is going strong.

Craig earns his B17 at the Tom Wright Veteran Tournament.

November - The beginner class kept laughing and having fun. Noah, Anton, Oliver and JoJo travel to second Jedi Challenge at LIF.

December - Mark beats Paul to place 2nd in Mixed Foil at our Santa' Revenge Tournament. Paul places 3rd. Bill takes 3rd in Mixed Epee. Our fencers compete in all 3 weapons.

Our coaches take a vacation! We are ready for the new year.
