Black Mountain Elementary School Preparing students for the global stage

While far from a complete view of the wonderful learning experiences from each day, below are a few moments we captured from this week. Enjoy!
Learning how to keep our bodies heathy by eating fruits led us to investigating our favorite fall fruit the apple! Apple day was filled with apple volcano science, learning about apple trees, arts and crafts, apple addition, bowling and so much more!
2nd grade writing penpal letters to Foothills Caring Corps. I love our kids doing such meaningful work! Truly amazing! The Foothills Caring Corps is a wonderful organization whose mission is to “Promoting independence and enhancing the quality of life for our "Neighbors", older adults and persons with disabling conditions who reside throughout the Foothills community.”
Reading rocks!
More 2nd grade awesomeness!
The 4th grade students recognized that a lot of new families have moved to town. To welcome them to Cave Creek and help them navigate the local attractions, they created books, posters, and videos. Nicely done, 4th graders!
Pictures of 3rd, 4th and 6th grade open scenes from Drama this week!
6th grade book clubs
Doing the important work!

Because kids aren’t the only ones who should have fun at school
