BSU American Marketing Club Members Attend Regional Conference

Eight Bemidji State American Marketing Association students attended the 13th annual University of Wisconsin Whitewater Regional Conference on Oct. 9.

The conference virtually welcomed roughly 900 students who participated in various marketing and sales competitions.

Brayden Ivaniszyn, junior business administration major from Thief River Falls, Minn., and Troy Ito, senior business administration major from Shoreview, Minn. competed in the Gartner Sales competition, a sales role-play competition that simulated a real life sales call.

Ito advanced to the finals and took home third place.

Melody Hoza, junior business administration student from Fairbanks, Alaska, Daltyn Lofstrom, senior mass communications major from Strandquist, Minn., Ethan Erfurth, senior business administration major from Brainerd, Minn., and Claire Schotzko, senior business administration major from Bemidji, Minn., along with Ivaniszyn competed in the Victor Envelope’s Perfect Pitch competition, where students gave a minute long speech about themselves to prospective new employers. Lofstrom and Erfurth received honorable mentions.

Hoza earned third place in the Perfect Pitch Competition.

Leah Seidenkranz, senior marketing communications major from Oakdale, Minn. participated in the Henry Schein Mock Interview competition and partnered with BreAnnene Willson, junior business administration major from Thief River Falls, Minn. on the Sherwin Williams Design competition, where they made it to the final round.

Throughout the day, the students also engaged with keynote speakers including Lisa Nucci, Senior Director of Marketing for the Chicago Bulls.

The Bemidji State American Marketing Association is advised by Dr. Angie Kovarik, associate professor of business administration.

Appreciate
