Book Week Character Parade
Last Thursday, Ballina Public School's world famous Book Week Character Parade went off with a bang. Everybody went to a lot of effort and there were hundreds of fantastic costumes on display.
A special assembly was held in the hall compered by Mrs Streader and Mrs Luppi. Each class had representatives who spoke about their featured book and then all the students of each class paraded through the hall to display their costumes.
School leaders Tyler, Gabe, Alliera and Taylia then presented prizes of a $10 book voucher to the student judged with the best costume from each class. The winners of best costume from each class were:

PBL Focus - Positive School Talk
"Our PBL focus is still School Talk and during our first week of PBL activities, there was lots of positive talk between the students as they were interacting. It was nice to see all students enjoying themselves and being inclusive of one another. Well done Ballina Public." - Ms Schwenk. PBL Team.
PBL Activities kicked off on Friday and Ballina Public students enthusiastically participated in a whole range of fun, interesting and educational activities from cooking to fishing to video making and boxing. Thank you to all of wonderful teachers and SLSOs who help make this program such a success. Stay tuned for more photo galleries of activities which will be published on our school website.

Book Parade Day
Thanks to everyone who supported us on book parade day. We had a huge amount of orders, so unfortunately we were running late with lunch. But I think everyone enjoyed their meals.
We had a lot of late orders put in on the day, so this took a lot longer to process. This is why we asked for orders by Wednesday. So if everyone could keep to this rule it makes it a lot easier for everyone.
Congratulations to Dylan in KA who won the $20 canteen voucher. Well done.

A special thank you to Alison, Liz and Katherine for their help, it was a big day.
