Claim - Dropping a bigger mass will give more joules of energy to the sand. Dropping mass from a greater height the height will give more joules of energy to the sand.

Evidence - When we dropped the hanging masses with a mass of 0.35kg it went 2.3cm deep in the sand and the GPE was 1.37J. Then when we dropped the falling masses with a mass of 0.85kg it went 3.5cm deep and the GPE was 3.3J. Then when we dropped the falling masses from 0.5m and kept the mass 0.500kg and it went 2.7cm deep the GPE was 2.452J. When we dropped it from 1 meter It went 3.2cm deep and the GPE was 3.2J.

Explanation - I know that GPE increased as mass increased because The Science Explorer textbook says "The more an object ways, or the greater the objects height, the greater it's gravitational potential energy." Gravitational potential energy is the energy an object has because of it's position in a gravitational field.
