Old Yeller and Where the Red Fern Grows By: Tyler Bowden

The two books I chose for this project were Old Yeller and Where The Red Fern Grows. Some of the ways these two books are similar is they both are about a strong bond between a boy and his dog. In both of the books the dog dies. In Old Yeller the dog saves Travis from the hogs, and in Where The Red Fern Grows old Dan and little Ann save him from the cougar. In both books the dog dies by saving someone.

Some of the ways these two books are diffrent is in Old Yeller they found old yeller. Where The Red Fern Grows the boy had to save up his money for two years of saving his money and work two buy the dogs. In Where The Red Fern Grows the two dogs hunt. In the Old Yeller the boy and the dog work with the cattle, and the hogs, they hunt together, and old yeller play's with Travis's little brother two. In Old Yeller the dog savesTravis from rom the hogs, saved Arlis from the bear. Old Yeller also saved Travis's mom and Lisibeth form the wolf.

If someone liked the book Where The Red Fern Grows then they will probably like the book Old Yeller. This is book is about a strong bond between a boy and his two hunting dogs. This book is a great book that anyone should read because it leaves the reader in suspense and makes the reader want to read more. These book is pretty similar to the book where the red fern grows becuase they are both about a boy and his dog's. I think the that someone would like this book becuase it is about a strong bond between a boy and his dog. The dog helps Travis and his family take care of the house and hunt. I liked this book becuase it's cool to see how Travis and Old Yeller start off with Travis disliking him and then becoming best friends.
