UN DAY 2019 TOOLKIT UNITED NATIONS ASSOCIATION OF THE USA

ABOUT

On October 24, 1945, the United Nations was created. Every year for the month of October, UNA-USA and its 200+ chapters around the country activate in their communities by hosting events centered around a certain global issue.

The United Nations has declared climate change as the defining issue of our time. UN Secretary-General António Guterres has repeatedly called on us all to be leaders in the fight against climate change. We agree that it's time we all commit to immediate climate action. That's why our theme for UN Day 2019 is "Our Planet. Our Future."

UN DAY PLANNING WEBINAR

This webinar features best practices for planning a successful UN Day event – from the planning and promotion process, to event implementation, to turning event attendees into chapter members. Make this UN Day celebration the best your chapter has seen in years!

SPEAK UP FOR OUR PLANET AND OUR FUTURE:

SEND A MESSAGE TO YOUR ELECTED OFFICIALS ASKING THEM TO PUBLICLY OPPOSE THE ADMINISTRATION'S PLAN TO WITHDRAW FROM THE PARIS AGREEMENT.

Climate change is an issue without borders. What happens in one country affects everyone, everywhere. We've already warmed the Earth by 1°C, and are on track to reach more than 3° of warming unless we make significant changes. Tell your elected officials to work with the UN and affirm our country's position on climate action.

I just sent a message to my elected officials asking them to publicly oppose the Administration's plan to withdraw from the Paris Agreement. The world can't wait. This is our planet, and this is our future. Send a message to your Member of Congress: bit.ly/una-paris
