Indian Immigrants and Their Challenges in Canada

QUALITY EDUCATION IS A RIGHT IN Canada. however, quality education is a privilege in india.

Canada has been the home of immigrants and the land of multiculturalism for many decades. Immigrants are granted access to Canada for many grounds and predominantly education. Many immigrants choose to immigrate to Canada with the ambition of attaining education and a future in Canada. Furthermore, thousands of Indian immigrants immigrate to Canada for a form of education. This study outlines the differences in the methods of quality education in Canada and India. In addition, it discusses the barriers Indians encounter in an effort to attain superior education and employment in Canada. The purpose of this study is to raise awareness to the disadvantage’s Indian immigrants experience in terms of finding employment following graduation. The area of research that I would like to focus on my final project are the differences and challenges that Canadians and international students encounter after graduation in finding employment in Canada in their area of study. This analysis will be illustrated with a comparative analysis between Canadian born citizens and Indian immigrants. This research will identify current gaps that exist in this scope of research and provide suitable recommendations to fill such gaps.

RESEARCH QUESTIONS
  1. What are the advantages and disadvantages of educational attainment in India and Canada?
  2. How does quality education differ between Canada and India?
  3. How are immigrants with equivalent credentials as Canadians disadvantaged in the workplace?

Method: Qualitative research

I will be using a qualitative research design with a narrative approach. My research methods will include in-depth interviews and online questionnaires. In depth-interviews are personal and independent and will allow me to focus on my interviewee. Furthermore, I will also include online questionnaires that will ensure anonymity and individuals will be able to answer questions from the comfort of their home. This online questionnaire will enable me to include subjects from India and Canada. In addition, the online questionnaire will tackle concepts of educational attainment in India and Canada. My questionnaire will be intended for Indian, Canadian and Indian Canadian citizens. After attaining my questionnaire results, I will identify two individuals who pertained education from India or Canada and India and Canada. Furthermore, I will focus on narrative studies to determine the different experiences the two individuals faced and develop a comparative analysis.
