This is Me. The story of Robyn potolicki

My Goal.

After reading a bit about my journey, my hope is that you'll explore more about me. That you'll be eager to get in touch, as I will be just as eager to hear from you. That you'll ask more questions. That you'll find I would be a positive presence to have in your life as an employee, friend, teammate and/or acquaintance. I am more than excited to gain new experiences and learn more about you.

A Brief Background.

Growing up into my tall body was exactly how you would think, AWKWARD. Yet I thank my body for being a top prospect for sport. I had the privilege to take part in various activities that taught me about LEADERSHIP, TEAMWORK, and COMPETITIVE DRIVE that I could apply in aspects of my life far beyond the court. Playing post secondary sport has required making many SACRIFICES such as taking part in internships, co-ops, events, social clubs, and other extracurricular activities that are resume standouts for graduating students such as myself. Although, what many employers don't know about my part-time job (varsity volleyball) is the DEDICATION and COMMITMENT it takes. Spending on average 12 hours of practicing, 6 hours of game play, 5 hours of working out, 2 hours of video, and anywhere from 5 - 16 hours of travel a week has enabled me to MULTITASK and stay ORGANIZED. Whilst being sporty, I am first a STUDENT and while being a student I am also a member of the COMMUNITY. With this being said, I happily spend 50+ hours a year giving back to the community in various ways. So what am I trying to say? I am saying that I don't sell myself short of others who may have more hard skilled experience on paper. I have been taught from a young age the importance of HARD WORK, RESILIENCE and overcoming ADVERSITY. Quality COMMUNICATION between coaches, players, professors and other peers has enabled me to be a mentally and physically healthy student-athlete while also maintaining a cumulative 3.5 GPA. My skills and assets that I have acquired cannot be learn't in a day and nor in a classroom. I have thirst to become better in every role of my life from being a mentor to a being a captain to being a team player. I have the DESIRE and MOTIVATION to be a positive influence within the Alberta landscape. My contributions, collaborations and creativity, I am certain, will improve the environment I am immersed in.

What I'm Looking For

I'm looking for a mentor, a teacher, an inspirational leader. Someone who see's the same potential and confidence in me that I see in myself. I have a burning desire to learn. I am eager to listen. Those who wish to take the opportunity to teach me new skills and capabilities in a creative workspace...I assure you, you will not be disappointed. As much you can show me the ropes in the professional world, I can show you what I have learn't in my time being a student-athlete and apply it to any environment. I plan to stop the stereotypes of millennials and to change the mindset of women. Today's world is filled with possibility and the shift is exciting, so let's use it to our advantage!
