We are so happy to be called to move to Colombia to help with the satellite seminary program through The Master's Academy International (TMAI). Ricardo will be teaching pastors to exposit the beautiful word of God, as well as planting a church. Please pray for God's work in Colombia and the hearts and lives that He is preparing to be touched by this ministry.
We will be joining Fernando and Julia Jaimes who have already been hard at work since October of 2016. Fernando and Ricardo will be traveling to teach week-long intensive seminars in several locations across the country, allowing students to remain in their local churches, with current pastors able to immediately use what they are learning as they preach. Vonna is excited to work with Colombian women who are eager to hear the true gospel and grow in the love and knowledge of Christ. Please pray as Vonna transitions to life in Colombia and learns the culture and perfects her Spanish!
Ricardo is excited to be putting his training from the Master's Seminary to the Lord's use in Colombia. In order to be fully equipped for the work he will be doing, Ricardo is starting his Doctorate of Ministry program from Master's in July. Please pray for him as he embarks on this new chapter, and please pray that God equips many hearts through his teaching and preaching.
Colombia is a historically Catholic country, and though there are now many other small charismatic churches, most focus on monetary prosperity, rather than on true repentance and belief in Christ's atoning death on the cross as the means to salvation. Colombians are eager to talk about spiritual things and are very open to the gospel. Many Colombian pastors are thirsty for true theological training and several more locations are asking for training centers to be established to provide training. Please pray for the pastors that God will raise up as the future of His church in Colombia.
The Morales Family will start in Bogotá D.C. for a few months to get to know the team and church there, and then will move to Pereira, a city of about 475,000 in the heart of the coffee-growing region. To our knowledge, there is not one church in the region that preaches the true gospel. Please pray as we work to establish a church here.
Many Colombians have been touched by the gospel, brought by missionaries a generation ago, however, they do not have the resources to adequately train pastors, and are excited to have men solidly grounded in their understanding of God's Word, able to shepherd their local churches. Please pray for these brothers and sisters!
Please pray for our sweet Viviana Grace as she transitions to life in Colombia too. She is sad to be leaving her friends in the U.S. but already has met some new ones in Colombia and we know God has great plans for her in this adventure as well!
