Economy is how the Middle Colonies made money. In the Middle Colonies economy was wheat, fur, wood, iron, and animals.
The land in the Middle Colonies was great for farming they farmed wheat, rye, oats, barley, and corn. The summers were very warm and the winters were very cold. The Middle Colonies has many natural resources including, water, lumber, (wood) and good soil.
Reason for founding
The colony was founded in 1664 by the Duke of York. In 1664, James, the Duke of York, received control of New Netherland. The name of the colony was changed to New York in honor of the Duke. New York became a royal colony in 1685.
Delaware is one of the middle colonies. Delaware, a small Mid-Atlantic U.S. state, sits on a peninsula marked by dune-backed beaches bordering the Atlantic Ocean, Delaware River and Delaware Bay. In Dover, the capital, First State Heritage Park encompasses 18th-century Colonial landmarks like the Georgian-style Old State House. The city of Wilmington is known for the Riverfront, a waterside district of parks, boutiques and restaurants.
