Theodore Roosevelt by: fletcher stewart

Theodore roosevelt was born october, 18th 1858 in new york. he was both president and explorer.

He lived in a wealthy family and he was frail and sickly.

His father got him to play outside to improve his health.
It worked swell and he joined a boxing club in college.
Tragedy struck when his first wife and mother died.

Teddy was devastated and went west to work as a cowboy. Then the spainish-american war broke out. He gathered some followers called "rough riders" and went to war.

After that, he became president. So, he made the panama canal.

Which made a shortcut to south America, so he went to explore there. He found exotic plants and animals.

But he died in 1919, in oyster bay New York.
