Area & Perimeter What's the difference?

Here is Hanna's mermaid! She found the area of each of her rectangles.

Area is the measure of the space INSIDE a shape. A formula used to find the area is A = L x W.

A formula for perimeter might be: P = 2(L + w) OR P = 2L + 2W
