Under the guidance of first-year Head Coach Adam Gase, the 2016 season saw the Dolphins finish with a 10-6 record and earn a berth in the playoffs for the first time since 2008. After starting the 2016 season with a 1-4 record, the Dolphins utilized a six-game winning streak to help put themselves in playoff position. With a new canopy and a modernized stadium, the Dolphins wasted no time establishing a home-field advantage at Hard Rock Stadium.
2016 NFL DRAFT
The Dolphins On The Clock 2016 NFL Draft Party presented by Miami Orthopedics & Sports Medicine Institute at Baptist Health South Florida did not disappoint. The free event featured live insider analysis, current and former player autographs, interactive games, photo opportunities, concessions and areas to watch the 2016 NFL Draft. The room exploded with excitement when the Dolphins selected Ole Miss OT Laremy Tunsil at number 13.
The Miami Dolphins Training Camp unveiled several exciting changes geared to improve the fan experience as part of “Back to Football powered by South Florida Ford” at the Baptist Health Training Facility at Nova Southeastern University. This year’s training camp featured a brand new canopy over the seated area, providing fans with shade and a more comfortable experience than ever before. A new area reserved for children 12 years old and younger provided them with special access to get autographs from Dolphins players post practice. In addition, weekend practices featured food trucks, interactive games, and face painting.
HARD ROCK STADIUM ANNOUNCEMENT
2016 marked the inaugural year of Hard Rock Stadium. On August 17th, 2016, the announcement of Hard Rock Stadium was made in the exact way you would expect: music, memorabilia, lights and a guitar smashing ceremony. The Miami Dolphins welcomed Hard Rock International CEO, Jim Allen to participate in the festivities, alongside players Ndamukong Suh, Jarvis Landry and Reshad Jones, and Dolphins President & CEO Tom Garfinkel. Oh, and of course, Mr. 305 himself, Pitbull!
CANOPY AND VIDEOBOARD UNVEIL
With the new state-of-the-art open air canopy, 92% of fans are shaded and protected from the natural elements, making Hard Rock Stadium’s game-day experience one of the best in the NFL. Fans can enjoy the game from any seat on every level with four new high-definition video boards, totaling 22,400 square footage.
Gatorade received two (2) fifteen second (:15) replay video board features during each Dolphins home game at Hard Rock Stadium (18 total). This exceeded the contractual commitment of one (1) feature per home game.
TICKETS & HOSPITALITY
The Miami Dolphins provided Gatorade with four (4) season club level seats and two (2) preferred parking passes for the entire 2016-17 season.
Gatorade received four (4) tickets to Super Bowl LI on Sunday February 5, 2017 in Houston, TX at no expense.
SWEAT WITH THE BEST
The Miami Dolphins and Gatorade hosted three (3) winners of the 'Sweat with the Best' experience at the Baptist Health Training Facility on May 13, 2016. The full day experience, included private use of the Dolphins training facility and bubble, personal training session with Dolphins team trainers, lunch with Dolphins RB Jay Ajayi, tour of the team locker room, equipment fitting and instruction by Head Equipment Manager Joe Cimino and of course a little bit of fun playing ping-pong in the Dolphins leisure room.
Gatorade received a ten-person (10p) suite (M34A) in the Bokamper's MVP Club for the 2016 season. The suite included four (4) parking passes and a complimentary assortment of light food and non-alcoholic beverages for each game.
The Miami Dolphins provided six (6) autographed authentic jerseys that were given to guests of Gatorade's 'Sweat with the Best' experience.
In 2016, Gatorade sent its research team to the Baptist Health Training Facility at Nova Southeastern University to perform 'Sweat Testing' with some of the Dolphins team members. The project was coordinated through Dolphins Sports Nutritionist, Mary Ellen Bingham.
Both the Dolphins Athletic Trainers and Sports Nutritionist, Mary Ellen Bingham served as the team's hydration specialists throughout the 2016-17 season. This group of individuals assisted Gatorade in their hydration training sessions and prepared all sideline fluids for home and away games.
TRAINING CAMP VISIT
Gatorade received the opportunity for thirty (30) guests to attend Training Camp. The VIP experience included access to a private platform, complimentary light F&B and an exclusive tour of the Dolphins training facility and bubble. Gatorade passed on the opportunity days before the scheduled date.
JUNIOR TRAINING CAMP
The Miami Dolphins executed the Gatorade Junior Training Camp program through its Youth Programs team. Dolphins Sr. Director of Youth Programs, Twan Russell worked closely with Gatorade's Brand Marketer Aminah Charles on details around the camp.
Beyond JTC, Gatorade is activated in every program of Youth Programs that includes physical activity, such as our 7-on-7 Flag Football Tournament, Summer Camp, Dolphins Academy Clinics, Broward/Dade All Star Game, Youth Football Championship Series, and many more.
TRAINING CAMP ASSET
Continuing on the success of last year, the Gatorade Fuel Bar served as an integral asset of the Baptist Health Training Facility at Nova Southeastern University. The Fuel Bar was managed by Dolphins Sports Nutritionist, Mary Ellen Bingham.
Gatorade received four (4) pre-game field passes, including the opportunity for one (1) in-game field pass for the entire 2016-17 season.
Gatorade had the right to one (1) Head Coach or GM appearance for one (1) hour at a mutually agreed upon date, time and location in 2016. To our knowledge, Gatorade did not pursue this opportunity in 2016.
GAME DAY PROGRAM AD
Gatorade receive one (1) full-page, four-color advertisement in the Dolphins 'Playbook' game day program.
Continuing on the success of 2015, Centerplate and the Miami Dolphins continued to offer fans the opportunity to purchase Gatorade products at concession stands throughout Hard Rock Stadium.
GATORADE PRODUCT SIDELINE PRESENCE
Gatorade received exclusive product and brand placement on the Dolphins sideline for all pre-season, regular season and post-season games both home and away. The sideline presence includes but is not limited to: branded coolers, ice chests, branded cups, squeeze bottles, branded carts and towels for use by both players and coaching staff.
