What is Business Professionals of America?

Business Professionals of America (BPA) is the premier Career and Technical Student Organization for students pursuing careers in business management, information technology, finance, office administration, and other related career fields.

BPA has the ability to enhance student participation in professional, civic, service and social endeavors. Members participate in these activities to accomplish its goals of self-improvement, leadership development, professionalism, community service, career development, public relations, student cooperation, safety, and health.

BPA facilitates students demonstrating their career skills at regional, state and national conferences in more than 90 competitive events. These may include, Torch Awards Program and BPA Cares Program recognize students and chapters, respectively, for their leadership and service to their chapter and community.


2020 has been about building student interest in business skill that will help them gain valuable skills for a the working world...

Being such a new club to Pocatello High School we have few funds to helps students with Club Fees, National Event Fees, Travel Expenses, and even providing some students with business professional clothing.

This is YOUR chance to help provide Pocatello High School BPA students with funds needed to build a stronger program that all socioeconomic students can enjoy!



Hi, I am Mr. Christensen

I joined BPA in high school to travel with my friends and then as a college student to continue to improve my skills. It is because of BPA that I am a business technology teacher. Through my years as a student, I have competed in Computerized Accounting, Human Resource Management, Ethics & Professionalism, Advanced Interview Skills, Word Processing, and many more. My goal is to help connect students to the right opportunities and experiences that will help them further their career and help them meet their potential. We are just getting started as BPA chapter here at PHS. I would like to build our chapter be able to earn the Professional Cup at our state conference. The award is given to the chapter statewide that best exemplifies the ideals of BPA and is equivalent to winning a state championship in sports. Besides helping students excel in business I also enjoy snowshoeing, cross country skiing, hiking, kayaking, and watching professional baseball games and soccer matches.


"Hello, my name is Tylynn"

I joined BPA because my cousin told me about it and BPA peaked my interests. The events I compete in are Medical Office Procedures and Admin Support Team. My goal for this year in BPA is to make it to nationals, and better understand medical admin information. Besides BPA, I also enjoy playing sports like Volleyball and SoftBall.

"Hi, I am Annie"

I joined BPA because it seemed like a fun way to learn important life skills. This Year In BPA I am competing in Advanced Spreadsheet Applications and Administrative Support Team. For a career path I would like to get a doctorate or PHD in Forensic Anthropology and Criminology. With help from BPA, I am hoping to learn useful skills for a future business profession.

"Aloha, my name is Easton"

I am a freshman this year. I joined BPA because Mr. Christensen promised me socks if I made it to nationals, so my goal is to go to nationals! I hope to take first place in nationals. I am hoping to gain valuable team building skills in BPA that will help me to become a successful film producer in my future. Two fun fact about me is that I collect stuffed animals and creating my own short films with stuffed animals.

I joined BPA for the experience of professionalism and to get "real world" experience. When my teacher had told me about this, I was eager to join. I have taken my freshman year as a year of experience. From sports to clubs, BPA plays a big role in that. I enjoyed the thought of competing against others at something that I am good at, was exciting. So I took the chance and am now a member.

"Hi, I am Natalie"

I joined BPA because I was inspired by my brother, who told me all about the fun times he experienced while he was in BPA. The events I competed in are Interview Skills and Administrative Support Team. My goals in BPA are compete at the National level before I graduate high school and finally, I want to learn how to be a leader and how to be a successful person! Besides all the fun in BPA my hobbies include arts & crafts as well as boxing and roller derby. I also enjoy playing the violin and absolutely love traveling!

"Hello, I'm Felicitee"

I joined BPA to excel my knowledge with the business industry. Since I was little I wanted to be a photographer and run my own shop. In order to accomplish that I needed to learn more about business. I also thought BPA would be a fun activity that I could do to help keep me busy. This year I competing in Fundamental Spreadsheets (Excel) & Admin Support Team. My goals are to learn and progress my knowledge with how run and create things for a successful business. My career goals are to run my own Photography shop. Since About 4th grade I've wanted to be a photographer. My hobbies include watching a lot of TV, Sports (Mostly Cheer), and playing games.

"Hi, my name is Emmalynn"

I joined BPA because I wanted to try new things and be more involved. I am competing in Fundamental Word Processing and Basic Office System and Procedures. My goals for this year are to do good at state and make it to nationals. I also hope to becoming closer to my team mates. Through BPA, I would like to learn more about business, and become more business savy. In the future my would would be to work at a law firm... Or Radiology! Some of my hobbies include reading, listening to music, playing soccer, volleyball, and hiking.
