Sharing Results of the

NYS Deaf Health Survey

We are making plans to share results of our New York State Deaf Health Survey with communities outside of Rochester. We hosted our first event on June 27th with the Rochester community and look forward to reconnecting with other cities to share our results. If you are interested in co-hosting an event, contact us directly: NCDHR@urmc.rochester.edu.

Deaf Studies Cluster

Deaf Studies Cluster is a intercampus collaboration of three different departments: National Center for Deaf Health Research, Deaf Wellness Center, and ASL Program in School of Arts and Sciences. The goal of this cluster is to raise awareness about Deaf culture, history, arts and literature, and research within University of Rochester and Rochester community at wide. We were able to make two events happen: 1880 Deaf History presented by Dr. Mary Beth Kitzel, and More than Just Deaf presented by Dr. Joseph Hill. They both were a huge success and everyone left the event, gaining more knowledge about the history and the Deaf identities.
