RELIGION-The puritans believed the Anglican church needed to be purified of the influences of Catholicism

The Massachusetts bay colony was found by the puritans, in 1630 They where a religious minority group that migrated to the new world seeking to create a model religious community.

GOVERNMENT-By 1775 Massachusetts was governed as a royal province while operating under a charter.

ECONOMY-Concentrated in Manifacture and Focussed on town life and industries such as ship building and manifacture and export of rum

GEOGRAPHY-Jagged coast and hills. The basic geography of new England consisted of mountains thick with trees, rivers and poor rocky soil that was difficult to farm and unsuitable for crops.
