Monkton Park Newsletter 30th November 2018

On Monday we are excited to announce that the construction of the outdoor classroom will begin. The project is the culmination of our 50th Birthday celebrations and has taken over 12 months of planning. It has only been made possible by the huge fund raising efforts from FOMPS and the generous grants from the Town Council and the National Lottery.

Get well soon to Mrs Contardi (Otters Class) who dislocated her shoulder last week. Mrs Hamilton will covering over the next two weeks.

The Carol Service will take place on Friday 21st December at St Andrew’s Church at 2pm families and friends are welcome to join us.

Could you please complete the reply slip below to indicate whether you will be collecting your child from St Andrew’s Church after the service at 2.30pm. Children not collected from St Andrew’s will be walked back to school and can be collected at 3.00pm as usual.

Foundation Stage children are not directly involved in the Carol service and a separate letter will be sent to Foundation Stage parents about this.

Children should not bring bags into school on this day. Packed lunches need to be put into disposable bags, rather than lunchboxes. This is to ensure that children are not carrying anything with them to the church as space is limited.

Baubles

Miss Wilson is helping to run Christmas crafts at the Christmas fair, she need plain baubles. If you have any that you could donate, please bring them to Rabbits' classroom.

KS2 Christmas Fair Singers

The children who have been practicing Christmas songs with Mrs Douglas, will be singing at the Christmas Fair at 7pm. Please can they meet Mrs Bevan in the school hall at 6.45pm.

FOMPS

Thanks for all the contributions for the Christmas tombola today - we will be collecting them after school if you have any further donations.

Donations of teddies are also very welcome as are cakes for the cafe. Please bring these to the school office by Friday morning.

Don't forget to sell your raffle tickets and return the money and stubs to the office next week. More tickets are available from the school office if you need them and more top prizes are still being secured so the stakes are high!

If you are available to help out next week, with the set up, clear up or on a stall it is not too late to volunteer. Please email fompspta@gmail.com

Merry Christmas!
