What are the outer planets?
Jupiter is the 5th planet from the sun. It is also the largest planet in the solar system. Jupiter is a gas giant.
It's atmosphere is mostly made of hydrogen and helium. The atmosphere is what shows Jupiter's many colors. Jupiter's years are very fast. By the time Earth completes 1 rotation,(a year), Jupiter completes more than 2 rotations.
Jupiter has many moons. The outer planets, Jupiter, Saturn, Uranus, and Neptune, have many moons. In 1610, Galileo was the first to see the four largest moons of Jupiter through the telescope.
