Dates to Remember

May 8- Kindergarten Registration for next year so there will be substitutes in all K classes

May 10- Dress like a book character day; BOGO Book Fair

May 16- For the next 5 days B/D we will have a Junior Achievement lesson with Mrs. Heather Yeager, an elementary education major from York College who observed in our classroom in the fall. We thank her for returning and volunteering to teach our lessons!

May 17- Reading Assessment Day: there will be substitutes for all K teachers

May 19- WM T-Shirt or Blue/Yellow

May 24- Project Harmony T-Shirt or Wear Black and White

May 31- Half day students will practice eating lunch in the cafeteria to help them prepare for first grade! Please practice their ID number on the keypad sent home. Extended day students will eat at normal time.

June 1- Dress like a specialist (art, music, library, gym) teacher

June 7- Hawaiian Day; Kindergarten Showcase 9:15-9:45 (You may take your child at the end of the showcase if they are a half day student)

June 7 and 8- Early Dismissal (AM 7:45-9:45, Ext day 7:45-12:30)

June 8- Last Day of Kindergarten! Report cards will come home on this day.

This week in Kindergarten...

We will review the various rhyme chunks and digraphs learned this year as well as introduce the students to some harder spelling patterns and phonics sounds.

We will read books about bugs and insects.

In math we will play roll and record games, work with the rocker balance and review how to read and draw simple maps.
