A Man's Journey My journey to becoming engaged

7 DAYS TO GO

With seven days to go to until the engagement on the 14th of March I have a lot of preparations to get in order. Today, I trekked through rain to walk to the art store in Lynchburg to retrieve more paint for the painting I'm working on. Today I outlined the painting with pencil, and began work on the border, as it is a very large painting, it will likely take me the rest of the next week. (It's a good thing I don't have much homework this week). As of today, I'm feeling a mixture of excitement and nervousness, those butterflies are wreaking havoc on my stomach but in a good way. I couldn't be happier to propose to my best friend.

I'VE KNOWN HER SINCE FRESHMAN YEAR OF COLLEGE

BUT IT FEELS LIKE FOREVER

2015

AND I WOULDN'T WANT TO JOURNEY THROUGH LIFE WITH ANYONE ELSE.

2014

Working on the first painting for the big day.

Her favorite Disney movie and song. Can't wait to give it to her.

6 DAYS TO GO

There is six days left until I ask my best friend to marry me and I couldn't be more excited. My heart skips a beat every time I think about it, and the butterflies in my stomach are becoming more prevalent. I didn't get much done today in terms of preparing for the engagement because of homework, but tomorrow I should be finishing another painting, and Friday I can finally put everything away in a bin and get ready for the big day.

5 DAYS TO GO

Five more days now, and with each day I get more and more nervous, but excited. I have mostly everything prepared, tonight I get to finish the next painting in the series of paintings I have planned out for the engagement day. I also have 10 frames to print pictures out for and to wire up for framing, so there is no shortage of work to prepare for this. I want it to be magical, and I want it to be one of the most memorable things Kristin has ever experienced, something she can tell all of her friends and brag about. I really hope it goes as planned, as of now the weather is looking cold but not unbearable.

The first batch of photographs for the picture frames.

The bobs burgers picture me and Kristin took for Halloween.

And of course, some of our cutest photos together.

4 DAYS TO GO

And of course, what would a journal be without pictures. Here are basically all of the photos me and Kristin have taken together. Memories I will remember forever.

All packed up for spring break.
The beautiful ring I get to give Kristin.

3 DAYS TO GO

3 days to go, everything is coming together. I got to see the spot that I'm going to propose to Kristin at and it looks beautiful. However, snow Is expected for that day but hopefully that will just make it more beautiful, especially for photos. I hope weather doesn't ruin all the plans. I really think it could be such a beautiful and unique engagement and I hope she'll love it.

2 DAYS TO GO

Today was fairly eventful. I called up Kristin's Paw-Paw Johnson to see if everything was ready and were visiting him tomorrow to "fix her laptop" and I'll get the rest of the supplies for Tuesday.

1 DAY TO GO

Things are going well, all the supplies are ready and I'm ready to ask her to marry me.

ENGAGEMENTDAY

The ring and the rose
Tale as old as time
The tent
The rose
She's my Minnie Mouse
Will you make my dreams come true and marry me?

The moment

The beautiful fiancée of mine.

The beautiful engaged couple.

And the beautiful ring.

This is just the beginning of the story...
