PRESS RELEASE

JANUARY 2019 Black & Tan SHOT Show

The Darby Project hosted three events in January 2019 where more than 84 Active Duty, Ranger Veterans & their family members were introduced to resources for personal and professional development and transition guidance.

The Darby Project, a U.S. Army Ranger veteran support organization, hosted more than 60 Ranger veterans for a night of fellowship at a Black and Tan Link-up during the annual SHOT Show in Las Vegas on Jan. 22. The event brings together Ranger veterans from the defense industry and weapons enthusiasts to talk business in a relaxed social setting.

Ops-Core and USARA served as the title sponsors for the Black and Tan Ranger Link-up.

“Events and get-togethers like Black and Tan are needed for this small community of Rangers,” said Ray McBride, 75th Ranger Regiment veteran. “I think we need to stay connected and support one another in our current and future endeavors.”

Since 2017, The Darby Project has been actively involved in the planning and execution of Black and Tan Link-ups at SHOT Show and NDIA Special Operations Forces Industry Conference in Tampa each year.

"The Shot Show Black and Tan would not be possible without our sponsors, the United States Army Ranger Association and Ops-Core-Gentex,” said Bryce Mahoney, The Darby Project’s director and event host. “The Black and Tan encourages professional networking opportunities for our Rangers to network in a social environment, and is a staple of what we will continue to do for our Ranger veterans.”

The Darby Project will hold its annual NDIA Special Operations Force Industry Conference Black and Tan Ranger Link-up in Tampa this May.

The Darby Project serves U.S. Army Ranger School qualified soldiers and soldiers serving in the 75th Ranger Regiment. Our mission to facilitate a successful transition from Active Duty to a civilian life filled with hope and purpose is accomplished through hosting and supporting therapeutic recreation events, connecting them to fellow Rangers & educating them on the resources from various businesses and organizations that are available to the Ranger and their family.
