"No matter the person, or how old you are, you will get stressed out."
Two essays and a test all on the same day. Personally, that screams stress to me. No matter who you are you are, going to have stress. Stress can come in many different ways, whether it is the work load you have or feeling like you don’t fit in. If you had to guess, would you say that teenagers or adults have more stress? Everyone's opinion is different. Students feel pressured to be the best of the best. They feel pressured to go to the best college and get the best grades. Not only does school stress out students, but the pressure to be socially accepted contributes to stress. Normally, adults are stressed out because of work, or their children. No matter the person, or how old you are, you will get stressed out. However, studies show that teenagers are more stressed out than adults.
American Psychological Association on Stress.
"Scored on a ten point scale, the agency’s stress in America survey shows that teenagers have a average stress level of 5.8, while adults have a stress level of 5.1."
Studies have shown that teenagers are more stressed out than adults. Scored on a ten point scale, the agency’s stress in America survey shows that teenagers have a average stress level of 5.8, while adults have a stress level of 5.1. The main thing that stresses out teenagers is school, because of the pressure to be the best. Students feel like if they don’t have good enough grades, they will not get into a good college and won’t succeed in life. Students now learn at a much more accelerated rate compared to when their parents went to school. Teachers put a lot of pressure on the students by giving so many assignments. The assignments now are more difficult than when our parents went to school because the curriculum is now harder. It is hard to juggle eight classes that all have a lot of work in them. School is not the only reason teenagers are stressed, teenagers feel pressured to fit in socially. School can be a place where students get stressed or anxious because they don’t fit in with other students. A freshman at UCLA said that stress in some ways can be a competition. It can be a competition because teenagers are always saying “I’m so stressed” but then their friends will say “no I am way more stressed than you”. By teenagers doing this it comes as a self-fulfillment to teenagers to see who is more stressed.School is suppose to be a “safe place” , but most of the time, it is a place that bring kids misery. Teenagers should not be more stressed out than adults, it should be an equal amount of stress.
