2018 Pre-Annual Conference
Call To Prayer and Fasting
As we approach the South Atlantic Episcopal District Annual Conference Cycle, let us join together in a season of consecration connecting with God and one another through prayer and fasting for 30 days on behalf of our Presiding Prelate, Bishop Mildred B. Hines, Missionary Supervisor, Dr. Gwendolyn Brumfield and their supporting staff. As well, let us pray for the cabinet of Presiding Elders, pastors. ministers, officers, leaders and laity of the South Atlantic Episcopal District. It has been said that PRAYER is one thing that Satan fears and PRAYER moves the hand of God. We need GOD to continue moving in our Episcopal area, our churches, and surely our lives. Therefore, let us PRAY!
Our Prayer Focus is for "Strength, Purpose and Direction." We will enter into this season: August 17 - September 15, 2018. During this time, we should commit to spending more intentional time to reading the Bible, meditating and listening for the voice of God.
Directions for Fasting
5 Day-A-Week Fast: Monday - Friday No desserts, drink water Only (Sacrifice Social Media, television, texting, telephone, smoking, etc.)
A culminating "Prayer Meeting and Love Feast" will be held at the Kenneth Monroe Transformation Center, 6:00 PM, Sunday, September 16, 2018

Spiritual Gifts: Bloom Where You R Planted
Just want to share what we have been doing each Tuesday night for the past month. Keithan McIlwain and I (Marc Stinson) would like to thank our church family for donating money so that we could keep the youth of Lancaster/Indian Land area off the streets through our basketball outreach program at Indian Land Rec Center. We had 35 who attended this year!
I am not the preacher, however mutual interest in basketball has given us an avenue to reach our young adults.
Thanks Steele Hill for impacting someone's life.

College Students, Military, Etc. - Stay Connected!
Through the power of technology, no matter where you are, we can stay connected! We want to keep you abreast of what is happening on The Hill! One way to stay connected is to make sure that the Media Ministry has your email and cell number for texting. Parents and family members, can you please follow up with your college students, military personnel and out-of-town members and friends, to make sure that we have their contact information? If they are not receiving our emails and texts, please have them sign up! It will only take a couple of minutes! Thanks!

The Penny Brigrade
The Penny challenge will be between all churches on the Lancaster Distract collecting pennies for the Penny Brigade Event held on Saturday, September 22, 2018 at Mt. Zion A.M.E. Zion Church at 9:00 A.M. Our very own Cassidy Webb will represent Steele Hill A.M.E. Zion Church! Cassidy is the daughter of William and Crystal Webb Sr. Each Penny Brigade contestant will receive a participation gift and the top three churches with the most pennies will receive 1st, 2nd, and 3rd place trophies. The penny challenge is designed to be fun at the same time collecting for a cause.
The Christian Education Department's share of the monies collected will help pay for expenses like District registrations, annual conferences, winter meeting, Black History Month programs, Men of Distinction programs, kick ball fun day, ice cream and pizza parties, and etc. The more money raised from the Penny Brigade Event will help support some of the expenses in the Christian Education Department.
Please church family let’s help Cassidy bring a trophy home to Steele Hill! She has decorated her container with a Wonder Woman Theme. The Penny Brigade container will be located in the vestibule until Sunday, September 16, 2018. Help Cassidy fill up the Wonder Woman Bottle all the way to the TOP!
Thank you in advance for your support!
