COURAGE is our character trait of the month. We define courage as the ability to stand up for what is right - not just for ourselves, but for others as well. For our students, this may look like helping a friend who is being treated unfairly or speaking up for themselves when they feel wronged, in a confident yet respectful way. Courage also takes compassion, which is a trait we are learning about in our social-emotional lessons this month. Compassion is "empathy in action". We notice and understand how someone feels and then do something to help them. Having compassion encourages students to see different points of view and helps develop stronger relationships.
Amity Parents and Teachers Together is the parent-teacher organization serving both the Amity Elementary and Amity Middle Schools. Our mission is to provide additional support and funding for classroom and school related activities and programs.
