First opened by Don Saville in 1943, Saville Flowers is a staple of the Evanston and greater North Shore community. The shop has passed through three generations and is currently owned by Marc Jones, who operates Saville with the help of a driver, several part-time designers, and a pair of Northwestern students.
Rebecca Hughes, an "extremely part-time" designer, readies an arrangement for the Northwestern University Vice President.
Saville also sells home goods and cards in addition to their signature floral arrangements.
This post-Valentine's Day, pre-Easter period is one of the slowest of the year, according to Hughes.
Allison Djuvik, another floral designer at Saville, prepares to wrap up her last order of the day.
Hughes washes her hands after finishing the Northwestern arrangement.
With the Northwestern bouquet complete, Hughes turns her attention to a new arrangement featuring spring's signature flower: the tulip.
Saville is located at 1714 Sherman Ave in Evanston. Orders may also be placed by phone at (847) 864-0632.
