Marine Expeditionary Unit (MEU) Matthew l. raburn

First things first; what is a MEU? A MEU is a Marine Expeditionary Unit, which is a deployment type for the United States Marine Corps, and Navy. The purpose is to keep Marines readily available for deployment to "hot spots" around the world.

So what do Marines and Sailors do on a MEU? Well, there is always training, to maintain constant readiness. We stop in multiple countries, and experience the culture of those areas. We interact with the wildlife. There is a lot of fun to be had at different ports, but a lot of waiting around as well. Marines can sleep anywhere!

We aren't only a combat force. We are always prepared to offer disaster relief.

We are constantly training. Physically,

Tactically,

and as a group, to keep our readiness at the highest level.

So we can make it home to those we love.
