Thunderstoms occur when warm, humid air rises and cools. If a strong and cool wind blows into the warm air, a whirlwind can happen. These thunderstorms usually make tornadoes, which are calles supercells. Tornado winds can reach up to 483 kph. As the warm air intensifies, low pressure forms ate the base of the supercell thunderstorm. The low pressure pulls the air inside the supercell towards the ground.
