TikTok popularizes another recipe: Gigi Hadid's Pasta alla Vodka By: Isabella Rivel '24

If you have the popular social media app TikTok, you may have seen videos about supermodel Gigi Hadid, and her trending Pasta alla Vodka recipe. A few months ago, Hadid posted the recipe on her Instagram story, and it quickly gained popularity. The recipe made its way to TikTok as people discovered how easy, time-efficient and most importantly, how delicious this pasta tasted. This recipe makes two servings, and traditionally includes vodka, however Hadid was pregnant at the time, so the alcohol isn't included or necessary in this recipe.

Ingredients: two cups of your choice of dry pasta, one fourth cup olive oil, an onion, one clove of garlic, one fourth cup of tomato paste, one half cup of heavy cream, one tablespoon butter, one fourth cup of parmesan cheese, salt, pepper and if desired, red pepper flakes.
To start off, put water and a little salt into a medium sized pot, and turn the heat to high.
While the water for the pasta is heating up, dice approximately one fourth of the onion.

Next, in a large saucepan, add one fourth cup of olive oil and add the diced onion and garlic. Cook the onion and garlic until the onion is soft.

As soon as the water is boiling, add the pasta and set a timer for the amount of time specified on the box.

When the onion is soft, add the tomato paste and start to combine it with the ingredients already in the pan.

Next, add the heavy cream and at this point, the tomato paste should be able to fully mix with the ingredients.
Next, add the butter and stir it in until it is fully melted.
Then, add the parmesan cheese and finish stirring the pasta.
Next, turn off the heat and season with salt and pepper to taste., Add about one fourth a cup of the pasta water to the sauce. The recipe calls for red pepper flakes as well, so if you want the pasta to be a little spicy, add the pepper flakes in.

Then, drain the pasta in the sink and add it to the saucepan. It should be about three cups now that it is cooked.

After the pasta is done draining, add the pasta into the saucepan and mix until the pasta is fully coated.

Finally, the pasta is ready for serving. You can garnish the dish with a little more parmesan cheese, and a basil or cilantro leaf. The dish is ready for you to dig in, enjoy.
