Welcome! EDUC 640: School Administration

Hello, everyone, and welcome to EDUC 640 School Administration! We'll officially be getting underway on Monday. I look forward to getting to know you during our eight weeks together. Please watch the 3-minute video below and then continue to scroll down for information that will help you kick off the course well . Each week, you’ll be provided an overview like this one. These overviews include very important information that will help you be successful on course assignments. Please pay close attention to them.

COURSE REQUIREMENTS CHECKLIST

In order for us to mark you present, the Course Requirements Checklist must be completed during Week 1 between 12:05 a.m., Monday, and 11:59 p.m., Wednesday. This initial attendance record is very important, so mark your calendars to do it. If not done during the time window stated above, the Registrar’s Office may automatically drop you from the course.

Field Experience Requirement

30 Clock Hours

The practicum is required of all students enrolled in this course. Liberty's School of Education administration has made clear to us that we cannot make exceptions to the 30-hour practicum requirement. More information from the Field Experience Office will be provided in a separate announcement following this one.

If you'll click the "Practicum Documents" button below, you will find two documents that you'll be completing during this course: (1) Course-Embedded Early Field Experience Proposal and (2) Field Experience Summary (FES).

The 4-minute YouTube video below clarifies the practicum requirement. (If the volume is too low, try wearing headphones or earbuds.)

FEM Form (Required by ALL students)

By the end of Week 2, click the button below for the FEM Form and then go to FEM for Students > All Others > School Administration Practicum or Internship. Select the "School Administration Practicum or Internship" link and complete the form. Doing so will arrange access for your practicum mentor to complete the Field Experience Assessment online. Not completing this task prohibits your mentor from accessing the online assessment; your mentor’s assessment is required in order for you to pass the course.

Financial Aid Check-in

If you have not already done so, complete Financial Aid Check-in.

Week 8 Due Date

The assignment due date for Weeks 1 through 7 is at 11:59 each Sunday. For WEEK 8, however, assignments are due 11:59 p.m. on FRIDAY. Please mark your calendar for this now so that you can work ahead for Week 8 if you need to. Administration has directed us not to offer extensions for Week 8 assignments. Therefore, all assignments must be submitted in Week 8 by Friday night.

May God strengthen you as you prepare for this new term, and may He give you courage for each new day. - Dr. Sam Smith
