South Dakota Adventures Summer 2013

We spent a day in Deadwood experiencing life the way it was in the late 1800's when the town was filled with rugged men and wild women.

We ate lunch at the site of Saloon Number 10 where James Butler "Wild Bill" Hickok was shot during a game of poker.

The falls appropriately located in Sioux Falls, South Dakota.

View from the observation tower.

Being a social studies teacher I had to visit locations on the Lewis and Clark Trail. Spirit Mound is one of the few locations historians know for a fact that Lewis and Clark visited!

Sunset from Spirit Mound

Miles and miles of flat land leads to some interesting sites along the way...

Every rest area in South Dakota has one of these teepees.

I got quite a few pictures of myself with various state signs.

And of course I couldn't miss out on the Corn Palace in Mitchell!
