Basketball Homecoming

The student body of Good Hope Middle School elected Madison Lee as the 2019 Basketball Homecoming Queen.

Basketball homecoming was 12/5/2019 and our representatives were as follows:

Winter Athletics


On November 2, we hosted the first Cullman County Cheer Competition here at our school. Our cheerleaders did an outstanding job, receiving 1st place in JV traditional, and 2nd place in Middle School gameday categories. They also represented us well at the Regional Competition in Birmingham later that same month. We are very proud of the following cheerleaders for receiving All-county this season: Jenna Crumpton, Madison Lee, Kailey White, Lexi Doss, and Mahayla Dillard.

Good Luck Varsity Cheer Team at Nationals this week in Orlando, FL!

We want to wish our varsity cheer team good luck and safe travels as they compete at the National level this week in Orlando, FL. Also, we are super proud of Madison Lee (8th grade) for competing with the team.

Boys Basketball

Congrats to the following All-County Athletes: Tucker Malin (7th grade), Konner Stevens (8th grade), Weston Hancock (8th grade)

8th grade Boys Team:

We had a good season with only 3 losses and we came out 2nd place in the Cullman County Tournament. Our goal for the season was to win the county tournament but we came up short, however, we all learned from our mistakes and losses. We came out with a winning record.- Colten Whatley

7th grade boys team had successful learning season as well. We have a great group of athletes to look forward to next year.

JV Boys Team:

Congrats for winning county runner-ups this year and we are proud of our 8th grade member K'mal Bell for being part of the team!

Girls Basketball

Congrats to the following athletes for making All-county this season for Middle School: Lexi Collins (7th grade) and Emma Bailey (8th grade)

Middle School Girls Team (7th & 8th grade)

The girls team had a pretty good season this year, with only 5 loses and 8 wins, for a total of 13 games. We look forward to Coach Tolbert being back again for next season. - Lillie McCluskey (8th grade)

JV Girls Team:

Congrats to our JV girls team for winning runner-up in the county tournament this year! We are super proud of our 8th grade team member Charly Johnson.

Varsity Girls Team:

Congrats to Ivey Maddox (8th grade) and Bailey Tetro (8th grade) for receiving All County during this season on the High School Varsity team!

Extra-Curricular & Fine Arts

Alabama University Honor Band

On 12/12/19 and 12/13/19, two of our students travelled to the University of Alabama for their annual University Honor Band. We are very proud of these two students, Samuel Cregan (8th grade) and Roland Nisley (8th grade). Samuel Cregan was placed first chair and Roland Nisley was placed 6th chair.

State of Alabama Honor Band

Multiple students from Good Hope High School and Middle School traveled to Muscle Shoals High School to audition against instrumentalists from around District 3 and the entire state of Alabama. Only a certain amount of students were allowed to be taken into District 3 Honor Band and the Alabama All-State Festival. Congrats to Samuel Cregan for making 2nd Chair in the Alabama District 3 Honor Band and being 2nd Chair in State!

Concert Band

The Good Hope Raider Band is preparing for Music Performance Assessment (MPA) for the band to be graded as a whole. Best of luck is wished to the GHRB in their preparations.

Spelling Bee

Congrats to our Spelling Bee champion Will Crawford (7th grade) and our runner-up Jordan Edwards (8th grade). Thanks to Mrs. Yates for all of your hard work and effort that went into the event.

Math Team

Congrats to the 7th grade math team for winning 1st place at Holly Pond on Jan 15! February 12: 6, 7, 8 grade teams will have a tournament at Vinemont Middle School

B4 High is currently selling Pixi Stick Candygrams for $1 Feb 3rd-14th. Valentines Day Dance will be held for the Middle School on Feb 14th from 1pm-3pm.

Good Hope Middle School Beauty Pageant

Friday, March 13, 2020 @ 6:00 p.m.

Entry fee $25.00

Girls in grades 6th -8th at Good Hope Middle School

An overall academic award will be awarded along with GHMS winner, 1st Alternate, 2nd Alternate, & 3rd Alternate.

Forms are in the office. Money and forms are due on or before Monday, March 2, 2020 to Mrs Chiaranda or Mrs Hyatt.

Spring Break Dates: March 30- April 3rd

8th Grade Formal

When: May 8th

Where: Top of the Town (Top of Cullman Savings Bank)

316 2nd Ave SW Cullman, AL 35055

Time: 6:00 pm - 9:00 pm. Drop off may begin at 5:45 pm but kids need to be picked up at 9 pm.

Dress: Church dress

Cost: $40.00 per person. This includes a class shirt. (Adult sizes only)

Dates: You may bring a date but he/she must attend Good Hope Middle School. If the date is an 8th grader, the $40 per person applies; if the date is a 6th or 7th grader, then the cost is $35 for him/her.

Cell Phones: You may bring your cell phone to the formal.

**Sign-up form is due back by March 27th. All monies are due May 6th. If you would like to make payments between now and May 6th, you may do so. Return form and all monies to Mrs. Swann.**
