Wholesome Meat Quality Assurance Classes

Please RSVP for the class that you plan to attend at least 1 week before the class so that we may adequately prepare!

Who: REQUIRED for all livestock members: Beef, Swine, Sheep, Goat, Fowl, and Rabbits -Must be attended in your first year of a 4-H/FFA Livestock project

-Retake if you are a newly turned Intermediate (11 yrs as of 12/31/17) -Retake if you are a newly turned Senior (14 yrs as of 12/31/17)

-4-H and FFA members in MARKET or BREEDING LIVESTOCK projects must attend this class. This is required to complete your 4-H project and it is required to exhibit at the Fair. Example: If you took WMQA in 2017 but also had your 14th birthday in 2017… you must take it again - you’re now a new Senior. Likewise, if you had your 11th birthday in 2017, you must take it again - you’re now a new Intermediate.

When: 6:00 p.m. Choose one of these classes:

March 5th - Garfield County Fairgrounds, Event Hall

March 12th - DeBeque Fire Station

April 16th - Garfield County Fairgrounds, Event Hall. (This is the very last opportunity to attend an MQA class. If you haven't attended one by now, you will not be eligible to show or sell at the Garfield County Fair).

You will not receive a printed copy of the rule books unless you contact the Extension Office and ask for one to be printed and sent to you. You can also access them by scanning these QR Codes

Open rides for all Horse Project members will be held every Thursday at the fairgrounds from 6-8pm. March 15th will focus on Showmanship; March 29th will focus on Western riding!

Enroll for the 4-H year! Must be enrolled to participate in any 4-H activity.

All new members will be $35.00 per youth aged 8-18 and $20.00 for those aged 5-7. Re-enrollments are now $45.00 per youth.
