First Grade!

All items needed each day are posted in the Google Classroom stream the day before. Please make sure your child checks this and is prepared for the day. If your child misses any of the live meets, he/she will need to access the lesson in Google Classroom under "Recordings" since core instruction is happening during the live meets. Please do not have your child submit work until the end of the day. Some kids are having trouble accessing assignments because the slides were submitted early. Also, we are planning on having another supply distribution on Thursday, October 8th from 8am to 6pm. Any papers picked up during this time will go in the manila folder from the first pick up. As we move on, we will be sending home items that might tempt kids {stickers}, please make sure your child does not use anything from the pick up until it is discussed in class. Thank you for your help with this and all you do each and every day!

Third Grade

Thank you for coming to school on Tuesday for our second scheduled Student Materials pick-up. We’ll continue to schedule these pick-ups for families so that we can disperse new materials and/or pick-up materials from our students. We have spent the first few weeks of school reviewing some key Math concepts from the Spring, but the good news is, our 3rd Grade Math program has a “spiral” approach, which means that concepts come up several times throughout the year so students get multiple exposures to the content. We suggest you create a work bin or backpack that will follow your child wherever they are spending the day so that your child has all of their books and materials always ready. Thank you for helping your child to log in to our Live sessions on time, to use the Chat appropriately, and for allowing your child to be independent during the whole group sessions. It is so appreciated.

Scarecrow Contest

As we know many things this year have had to be postponed or canceled due to the pandemic. As the ER PTO we wanted to find a way to safely celebrate and lift up our community while engaging our ER students and families! You do not need to be a Eleanor Roosevelt Elementary Family to participate! We'd love to see the whole community joining in!

What do you need to do?

1. Complete the registration form below no later than 8 pm on October 14th.

2. Place your scarecrow in your front yard no later than October 16th.

3. On October 17th, we will post a map and link to vote on our PTO website and Facebook page!

4. The voting will begin October 17th and run through October 30th! So keep your scarecrow up for those two weeks! All ER families and local residents are invited to walk or safely drive through the neighborhood and hunt for scarecrows and to vote for their favorites via the Google form!

Please click here for a few ideas to get you started!

Prizes will be awarded for 1st, 2nd, and 3rd place! As well as for some honorable mentions! Check back on our Facebook page on November 1st when we announce our winners!
