September Race Weekend brought us clear skies and lower temperatures. Member attendance was high for our first race after the summer break. Drivers came together to share one of the newer configurations, the Clark “A” race course. We were honored to have Keith Towers, Michelin’s Sales Manager (Motorsports & Original Equipment) present answering questions and lending support for both Light Sport Racer (Michelin) and Miata (BF Goodrich) series tires.
Corporate member, Exotics Racing Series, set up their paddock in the Administration parking lot and their drivers experienced two races on Friday and an hour long Enduro race on Saturday. The EXR group consisted of 10 drivers, pit crew, coaches, friends and family. We also had a great turnout for Light Sport Racer, Miata and Lotus divisions. Congratulations to one of our newest members, Rahul Patel, who raced for the first time and even had a podium finish in the LSRR class! All drivers quickly adjusted to the new turns on the East track and will surely be prepared to tackle the Clark “A” course once again in November.
