Holiday Fun in Preschool

Over the last week our class has been busy getting in the holiday spirit!

First up was "Ugly Sweater Day" on Friday.

Friday was also our Winter Party! We are so grateful to all of the parents who worked so hard to put together this party for us. We ate a snack, did a silly snowman craft, listened to a story, and played a snowball game!

Tuesday night was our Winter Program in the RAC (or the "big stage" as the kids call it.) They did such a great job singing "I Can Sing a Rainbow" and "Jingle Bells" up there! It may seem like a simple thing to us adults, but it took a lot for some of our friends to get up on stage and perform for you. We prepared for this moment for weeks and practiced many times!

Winter Program 2016

Wednesday was our last day together before Winter Break! The kids had so much fun wearing their pajamas at school. With each new friend that arrived there was a rush to door to check out what their pajamas looked like.

After greeting our friends, we headed to the Media Center to enjoy a movie and some popcorn with friends from preschool and kindergarten. We were planning to watch Inside Out, but settled on The Nutcracker after we encountered some technical difficulties. There's nothing like the DVD not working when you have a room full of excited four and five year olds getting restless! :)

Wednesday was a busy day! Once the movie was over, we had time to use the restroom and eat a quick snack before we went to the RAC to watch the Lower School Winter Program. We also had the chance to sing "I Can Sing a Rainbow" for the ENTIRE school. Some of our friends were a little nervous about the big crowd, but they did great!

Getting fired up for our encore performance!

At the conclusion of the program, Santa Claus showed up! I had been telling the kids that a surprise visitor was coming, but I don't think they expected anything as exciting as this! They were literally jumping out of their chairs to try to get to him. We got to greet him on stage and each child received a candy cane!

Hopefully this gives you some insight into why your kids might be a little extra tired tonight. We had a jam-packed week, but it was a lot of fun celebrating this holiday season together!
