State Band & Choir Competition May 3 & 4, 2019

On May 3 and 4, 2019, Gahanna Lincoln High School and Gahanna Middle School West hosted the Ohio Music Education Association (OMEA) South-Central Region State Adjudicated Event. Eight groups from GLHS qualified for the event by earning a superior rating at the district level in March. There were 68 total groups performing at the state event.

Eight groups from GLHS qualified for the event by earning a superior rating at the district level in March. There were 68 total groups performing at the state event.

The Freshman Band, Blue Band, Gold Band, Freshman Women's Choir, Men's Ensemble, Women's Ensemble, and A Cappella Choir all earned superior ratings, with unanimous ratings earned by all of the choirs and the Blue and Gold bands. Silver Band earned a rating of "excellent."

3,300 students from across the state were involved
Gahanna Lincoln had more bands and choirs than any other school (8)
There were 21 bands performing in class C - Blue Band was the only one to achieve unanimous superior ratings
Gahanna was the only choir program to receive unanimous superior ratings for four choirs
