CASA LAGOA is a unique fully equipped self catering homestead nestled on the banks the prestine lagoon in Praia De Bilene. The homestead is perfectly located to take advantage of the serene lagoon whilst allowing guests to enjoy the authentic Mozambique experience

CASA LAGOA boasts 2 independent units, which are serviced daily, ranging from 2bed 1 bath to 3 bed 2bath.

Our units are furnished in a warm contemporary style which draws its inspiration from the beautiful surroundings. Equipped with a fridge, microwave, kettle and stove. The units come with air conditioning and each unit has its own TV with DSTV Compact Bouquet.

"Bebe" is the charming 2 bedroom and one bath unit which can host up to 4 people. The unit has its own kitchenette and lounge area as well as a generous private garden and braai area.

"Lolo" is the flagship 3 bedroom unit which can host up to 6 people sharing. The unit has 3 bedrooms with queen size beds. 2 bathrooms (one ensuite). The unit has its own private braai area and splash pool.

Head Count......

  • South African passport holders do not need a visa to enter Mozambique
  • New immigration regulations for South Africa dictate that children require Unabridged Birth certificates along with their passports when traveling
  • Other passport holders may need to apply for a visa.

  • It is advisable to purchase your groceries in South Africa, to make sure you get all your favorites. There is however a Shoprite in Matola (Maputo) and Macia in case you forget something
  • Although tap water is available at the lodge, we recommend buying bottled cooking and drinking water.
  • Each person (children included) may take the equivalent of $50 (US Dollars) of groceries duty free
  • Each adult is allowed one bottle of spirits or two bottles of wine or twelve beers and 200 cigarettes (1 carton) duty free
Path to the beach

Vehicle Check

  • Valid drivers licence
  • Letter of authorization to cross the border from your insurer and car financier (if still under finance)
  • Compulsory 3rd party insurance which is available at the border
  • At the Mozambique you will have to complete a temporary import document for your car or trailer
  • Blue & yellow triangle is required if towing a trailer, boat or caravan. These should be placed on the front of the car and back of the trailer.
  • You must have a "ZA" sticker on the back of your car (if registered in SA)
  • You also need two red triangles, one reflective vest per adult
  • Keep all these documents readily available at all times during transit, you may be required to produce these at check points
  • SUV or 4 x 2 recommended


  • It is advisable that you consult your doctor or pharmacist before coming to Mozambique for the necessary precaution measures for Malaria prevention.
  • All units are fitted with mosquito nets.
  • Plugin odorless mosquito repellents are also available in all the rooms
