HISTORY: The Plymouth Colony was founded in 1620 by Pilgrim Fathers, or pilgrims, sail on the Mayflower Ship and founded the colony at Plymouth, Massachusetts based on the Mayflower Compact. The Massachusetts Bay Colony was founded in 1630 by John Winthrop and other colonist.

The main religion of the Massachusetts Bay Colony was puritan.

The Massachusetts Bay Colony was founded by the Puritans, a religious group who migrated to the New World seeking to create a model religious community. The Puritans believed that the Anglican Church needed to be purified of the influences of Catholicism.

MAJOR JOBS: Agriculture(fishing, corn, livestock) and manufacturing (lumbering, shipbuilding)

Crops were a big time deal for trade.

Government: Was charter. A charter is a document that spells out the powers, duties and structures of government and the rights of citizens. It is often compared to constitutions at the local level.

Anyone that can walk had chores. They all usually had a stand that they ran in town to make sure everybody gets what they need.

CLIMATE: New England was the coldest of the three regions, mild and short summers leading to long cold winters but less disease than in the warmer colonies. The soil was poor rocky soil that was difficult to farm.
