The Baker Blast November 21, 2020

Happy Thanksgiving

The Thanksgiving holiday is the perfect time to remind one another of the many reasons there are to be grateful. This year we have been reminded that life presents us with many challenges and it is so important that we relish our time with family, appreciate our health, and work together to overcome adversity. We are going through trying times and I hope that all of you spend the Thanksgiving holiday reflecting on the things that you are grateful for and safely celebrate with your loved ones!

Upcoming Dates

Extension of Virtual Learning

Given the current COVID-19 concerns in our community, the Troy School District made the decision to have students continue learning in a virtual environment through the Martin Luther King, Jr. Holiday. Elementary school students are scheduled to return on Tuesday, January 19. Secondary students will return at the beginning of the new semester on Monday, January 25. Prior to those dates, there will be an option for families to change their selection on virtual and in-seat learning.

PTO Meeting

Monday, November 23rd at 7:00 pm

If you would like to get involved as a volunteer or receive more information about the PTO, please contact the board at bakermspto@gmail.com. Be sure to join the PTO Facebook Group: BakerMS PTO 2020-21.

Picture Day Cancellation

With the Troy School District moving to virtual learning, the anticipated low student participation and our commitment to the mitigation of potential risks associated with COVID-19, we are deciding to cancel the scheduled drive-thru picture process. We are planning to have a picture date scheduled for the spring with hopes of better conditions within the community.

We realize that the constant changes to our learning format and the cancellation of activities is disappointing. I apologize for the inconvenience and will work with Kaiser Studio to provide this opportunity at a later date. We will also work with Mrs. Traver to provide opportunities for students to have their picture added to the yearbook if you are unable to participate in the Spring picture day. Again, we are sorry for the cancellation and will work to make this happen when possible.

THANK YOU FOR YOUR SUPPORT

Even during these unusual times, the Baker Middle School yearbook team is working hard to create a yearbook that is one-of-a-kind and reflects the unique moments that students are experiencing this year.

Our book will focus on this unique learning experience. We will be emailing students for interviews and photos so be on the lookout for requests.

Thank you in advance for all of your support.
